George T. Dougherty joins Mack legal team
TRENTON, NJ – (May 20, 2010) – The Tony Mack for Mayor Campaign is proud to announce that George T. Dougherty from the law firm of Katz & Dougherty LLC, has joined the 2010 election team as special counsel.
Mr. Dougherty served as the Trenton City Attorney from 1975 to 1990 and is a long-time Trenton resident. Additionally, Mr. Dougherty was the Deputy Attorney General for New Jersey from 1969 to 1971 before becoming Assistant City Attorney in 1971.
From 1991 to 1995, Mr. Dougherty served Lawrence Township as its municipal attorney and was Chairman of the Local Government Law Section of the New Jersey Bar Association from 1992 to 1994.
“George has graciously answered my call for help,” said Mack, the top vote-getter in the May 11th Trenton mayoral election. “There is much to be done between now and July 1, when the new mayor is sworn in. We must address our current fiscal issues and prepare for the tough times ahead, and we must begin now. Our team is working to develop a plan to address the many issues facing our city and to ensure that Trenton receives its fair share of discretionary aide from the State of New Jersey. George’s vast experience in municipal government will play a key role in the development and implementation of that plan.”
